Are you Free-falling or Flying- A give away
A story is the difference between free-falling and flying.
I've heard this saying before but was remind of it (or should I say shaken by it) recently during a sweat lodge when our water pourer was telling us stories. A reminder of both perspective and how we frame things for ourselves- are the stories we tell ourselves about our own lives framed in a way to empower us or do they enforce the victim myth? In Claiming Our Mythos (the class I will guide for 21 Secrets 2014) we will be taking an event or situation in our own lives and mythologising the story in such a way to give us heroine status and to find the hidden gift in a story that might otherwise have weighed us down. We will be working new life into an old story. Pop over to 21 Secrets 2014 to read more about this class and all the other wonderful offerings."Thank you for the experience, and get me through the experience, help me appreciate the experience but most of all don't let me judge the experience. Don't let me leave my spirit in the experience. Give me the guidance, give me the visionary insight so that I can go through this experience and never leave my spirit behind" Carolyn MyssWe will be empowering our spirits within our stories, not leaving our spirits in our stories!!
And to celebrate the New Year I am giving away TWO places in 21 Secrets 2014 :
One I am giving away to a random draw: To enter, all you have to do is leave a comment here and I'll write your name on a slip and toss it into my singing bowl from which I will draw a name in a week.
To increase the number of times I write your name you could do any or all of the following, just be sure to pop back and let me know in the comments:
- share this competition or the class on your blog, twitter, pinterest, google or facebook page
- subscribe to my newsletter in the side bar here.
- like my facebook page (or invite some friends to)
- subscribe to this blog
- Tell me why 21 Secrets is calling to you
- Tell me a story you would like to reframe or one you have reframed
- Tell me do you fly or free-fall
“I hope you will go out and let stories happen to you, and that you will work them, water them with your blood and tears and your laughter till they bloom, till you yourself burst into bloom.”
― Clarissa Pinkola Estés

ReplyDeleteOh my, why is your give-away calling me? It makes me feel shy, scared and excited so I guess it means there is some deep stuff to unveil :) I know 2014 is my year to open the door to my creative artsy Self, and I see you and your beautiful art waving at me for few months. It is also a year of very tight budget so, this opportunity seems to completely
ReplyDeletefit with the 2014 ambiance! One shall see...
Tossing my name in too. I have also like your fb page and subscribed to the blog :) happy new year xx

I have shared on FB, twitter and google. I would like to fly I just need to learn how. As for a story I would like to re frame, that would be the one of the evil inner critic, whos voice is always louder than anyone or anything else, who is always reminding me that I am not good enough. That is the story I would like to reframe. I am seeing 21 secrets all over the place and so I feel its calling me, prehaps to assist in my year of continuing to flow and to evolve, prehaps 21 secrets is what I need to do to find my own style of art, I just cant justify the price right now.
ReplyDeleteI'd like to be in the running, or the flying I quests I should say! Thanks for the giveaway
ReplyDeleteThrowing my name into the hat. I've subscribed, liked your FB page, and subscribe to your blog via feedly, as well.
ReplyDelete2014 is starting out on a rocky note for me. Six months' worth of medical stuff that, coincidentally, ends with a bang on April 1, the day 21 Secrets begins. (Or, at least, that's the day they start the reconstruction of my jaw -- from now 'til April, they're breaking everything to get ready for it.) I'm facing all of this down now, with varying degrees of bravery/cowardice, and I really want to make this a story of transformation and creation instead of pain and endurance. I feel like it's an opportunity to do a whole lot of soul remodeling while the body's getting its overhaul, and 21 Secrets (and your part of it!) seems like it's right in line with where I want to go.
Thank you for the opportunity.
Tossing my name in the bowl, too. I like your FB page.
ReplyDeleteHi Galia!!! I'm Diana From Monterrey Mexico and would love to be in 21 sectrets!!!
ReplyDeleteThis year i want to expand on the thought that creating artwork and giving it away brings healing and gives joy, that way I am not doing it then just for myself but for others....Lorrayne
ReplyDeleteHi Galia ~ This class is calling to me because, well, you are in it! ;) but also because I have chosen 2014 to be the year that I make art continuously. I am a graphic designer by trade but prefer drawing and painting to designing on the computer. I need to give my first love it's rightful place in my life and really see myself develop a body of work. This course would be something that I would turn to to inspire me with techniques and project ideas to keep me going.
ReplyDeleteAlso, I have subscribed to your newsletter (about time!) and am now following your blog and have pinned this course.
Cheers!
I would like to join all the creatives in the 21 secrets, it's just pure fun to play along. PS you did have a nice new year with feet in the ocean.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the day, Lidija
Tossing my name in, cause I loved doing 21 secrets 2013, so thinking 2014 will be even better, fingers crossed
ReplyDeleteI like the thought of my name being tossed into the singing bowl. I heard the whispering and the invitation to try so I am, and as I do I save space for the teacher who is meant to help me engage, go deeper and hear that voice out loud.
ReplyDeleteI am already a subscriber to your newsletter;).
Tossing my name into the hat and considering taking the vulnerability leap in celebration of 2014!! Thank you ~ Anne
ReplyDeleteThank you for the chance to be a guest in the 2014 21 Secrets class!
ReplyDeleteI have shared this info on Pinterest to make sure it travels far and wide!
21 Secrets is drawing me because it harmonizes with my 2014 word: deepen... a word that chose me despite my preference to }>always<{ keep things light, fun, and positive in my life. I am craving a closer relationship with my shadow.
Hi Galia ;D Happy New Year! Put me in the singing bowl please <3 I have shared your giveaway on my FB, Twitter, G+ and blog.
ReplyDeleteHi! I've liked you on FB and subscribed to your newsletter and blog. I'm looking to make some big changes grounded in creativity in 2014--my word of the year is confidence! I have a feeling that this course could be just what I need to get this year going in the right direction. :)
ReplyDeletetossing my name into the singing bowl and seeing if it is meant to be ...

ReplyDeleteThere is so much caged inside me waiting, always waiting, to get out. I would like to rewrite my story, not only to empower myself to wait no more, but to touch others to that they might be set free as well.
ReplyDeleteThis class is intriguing! Congratulations on being part of something so cool! They are lucky to have you. I don't know how I feel about art journaling. I feel like I "don't have the time" which may translate into my not ever allowing myself to do things that will: nourish and heal my soul and that will lead me towards my fuller destiny. Rather I should always be getting the "chores" of my life done. Perhaps that is a bit of a workaholic tendency combined with fear that I won't be any good at it. I should do some art journaling. I would wish to express the journey of my life which has been a battle between fantastic extreme optimism and the opposite of that, mixed with circumstance, history and just generally--life. I tend to fly. I am not a homing pigeon though when flying... I would be a bird that is hesitant and that has not been given a clear destination. (I shared on facebook; I tweeted on twitter; I subscribed to your newsletter; I followed via networked blog; I also followed view blogger/google, or I might have already been following. Have a fun class!!!)
ReplyDeleteHi Galia, thank you for this chance to win a spot. I liked your FB page, and shared on my Facebook page :) I would really love a chance to learn from all of the fabulous teachers in 21 Secrets. I'm choosing "Evolve" as my word for the year. I believe one of the best ways to evolve as an artist is to learn different techniques from a variety of teachers. I know that this will help me grow.
ReplyDelete21 secrets is so fun and what a terrific line up of teachers. Now am I free-falling or flying...hmmmm....
ReplyDeleteShared on Facebook, signed up for newsletter and liked on Facebook.

Each experience I've had in 21 Secrets has been a blessing of growth for self that I have been able to share and encourage others. Sometimes all it takes is one little thing, a word, a hope, a pat on the back, even just a breathe to believe and that . . .
that is when Spirit comes and introduces you to yourself.
Thanks for the opportunity and Congratulations to the winners for the best seat in the house.
I'm a flyer, but would like to soar. 21 Secrets to like a great place to explore my art. My 2014 goal is to make art a daily practice.
ReplyDeleteGalia, I also shared on Facebook. This post makes me think deeply about which story I would choose. Which story I carry with myself, about myself, could be a seed of transformation. I came with two answers : my story about the first man I loved and my story about my biological father from whom I know only his first name and his country of origin. And I guess they both come down to the same topic : my Masculine. How do I transform my own Masculine aspect to fit who I am now? Hmmm, this question feels quietly blissful.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the opportunity to get a closer look at myself.
I am a fly kind of gal when it comes to certain aspects of my life and a free faller when it comes to other aspects of my life. I truly believe you have to handle each situation differently as it presents itself. I have made many mistakes but through those mistakes I have learned what and what not to do, I have grown as a person and developed my individuality. I'm always up for learning from others and taking classes is a way to do that. I can learn from others and grow into who I am to become.
ReplyDeleteSubscribed to your newsletter. Thank you for the giveaway
ReplyDeleteI want to release my inhibitions and CREATE art FEARLESSLY and leave self doubt behind. I want to grow as a women and artist. I want to ENCOURAGE and be encouraged. This is the goal I have set for myself this year. It would truly be an honor to learn such lessons from such talented woman. Please toss my name into the singing hat.
ReplyDeleteThanks
Maggie Martin
I'd love to have you toss my name in to your bowl. Any encouragement and support is welcome. xoxo
ReplyDeletei would love to be able to join 21 secrets. We are in the midst of a financial downturn and so actually paying for anything outside of basic necessities is a burden for us, but so essential to where I am in my life right now. i am getting ready to apply to art therapy school and am working to bring as much personal experience into my life right now as i can. the story i would like to release is so deeply ingrained in who i am as a woman - a story of lost innocence and how i dealt with that across multiple years, well beyond my 20's and how it still impacts my intimate relationships - and even though i have managed to scar over, i would like to massage out the scar tissue and just have a thin line of a scar - ... i would like to truly transform this story, so that i can fly instead of free falling a lot of the time. (as an aside I did sign up for your news and i think i subscribed to the blog). thank you for this opportunity.
ReplyDeleteare, i'm in. sounds like too much fun to pass up.
ReplyDeleteHi. It's Jacinta from Dublin. I just want my name to go into the singing bowl. Sounds delicious. I like learning. Love your work and feel a little affinity with you because I studied Shiatsu and have a connection when you talk about such things.:-)
