Finally Finished
I started this painting last year sometime and it has been so close to finished
for months now. It was inspired by a beautiful wallpaper design from another
era and sacred geometry found in Islamic art. The contrast of the fluid with the structured geometric seems to speak of all things natural and sacred.
Finally I placed one or two more brush strokes and now it is
finished and hung in its intended spot on my bedroom wall.
Below you can see some details of
it, I also gold leafed the edges in a distressed effect which looks really pretty.
I think seeing it finally finished that I'm inspired to work on a series
based on this.
How gorgeous. And it also reminds me that I don't very often (if ever) do a painting just for me, which is so weird! And needs to change... Thanks for the reminder and the lovely visual. :)

DeleteCan't wait to see what you paint for yourself. Really we should always paint for ourselves even when its not (easier said than done perhaps)

Kisses Lynne, ta, I don't know why I got stuck on finishing it -onwards.
